Experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer | Former Royal Navy SubmarinerI began my career in the Royal Navy as an Air Engineering Technician, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that my true passion lay elsewhere. An exciting opportunity arose: volunteering for submarines. I eagerly accepted and found myself aboard a Trafalgar Class submarine in 2011. Completing my Submarine Qualification, I remained at sea on Trafalgar Class Submarines until 2015.My journey took an interesting turn when I joined the Submarine recruitment team. Alongside a select group, I crisscrossed the country, presenting to universities, schools, and colleges about Royal Navy and submarine life. It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to share my enthusiasm for this unique field.In 2016, I relocated to Barrow in Furness, where I became part of the Astute Class Build Programme. Contributing to the development of cutting-edge submarines was both challenging and fulfilling.I then transitioned back to Trafalgar Class Submarines for the remainder of my career.Transitioning from the Navy, I joined SAS Tech Services in 2022. As an IT Field Engineer, I honed my skills and quickly rose to the position of Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer. Currently, I’m on contract with the National Audit Office, ensuring robust IT systems and infrastructure.Areas of Expertise:IT Infrastructure: Proficient in managing complex IT environments, including Microsoft Azure, Exchange, and InTune.Active Directory Specialist: Experienced in OnPrem Active Directory administration.Submarine Operations: Former submariner with qualifications on Trafalgar and Astute Class submarines.Sonar Data Analysis: Skilled in analyzing sonar data for critical insights.Passions Beyond Work:Military Aviation: My extensive knowledge of fast jets and military aircraft extends beyond the professional realm.
