I'm working at the SHN Birchmount site on unit 4B the Integrated Stroke Unit.

•Accountable for completing client documentation, daily logs, verbal reporting with the OTs and PTs on a system called Meditech.•Educate and direct clients through rehabilitation exercises and stretches with adult and older adult population. •Working during an outbreak and following all PPE precautions while treating patients.

I had the opportunity to chair virtual team meetings, co-lead/lead different activities for clients with visual impairments, collaborate on the creation of treatment sessions, collaborated and produced a home safety webinar, and created a multiple sensory treatment session with a gross motor activity, fine motor activity, and writing task for a school age population.I was able to develop my effective communications skills, organizational skills, and team work skills because this was a virtual placement. This opportunity has allowed me to enhance skills that are not normally used in typical in person clinics or patient care settings.

This was a field work placement as part of my program. I was at Toronto Rehab Lyndhurst Centre for brain and spinal cord injuries.I developed many hands on skills such as: upper and lower extremity facilitation, pre-gait/gait training, low pivot transfers, Hoyer lifts, wheelchair skills and a few different modalities.I was able to enhance my interpersonal skills and this placement helped develop a great interest in neruo-rehab.

At this job I had to welcome members to the facility, get them to sign in with their student cards, I answered questions about the facility as well as events taking place around the campus, I had to ensure that the information at the front desk was readily available, clean and sanitize the equipment for members, ensure all members are following facility rules, and follow the proper procedure for opening and closing the facility.This job allowed me to further develop my customer service skills. Also, I work with a team which allowed me to understand the value of great team work.

I had the ability to lead 15-20 residents through the morning exercise class, transport the residents to and from rooms for different exercises during the day, I performed upper and lower extremities stretching/ strengthening exercises, and cognitive activates through out the day.his was a field work placement as part of my program. This placement allowed me to work with patients that had varying levels of cognitive abilities which made me have to change the way I approach and communicate with the patients.
