Study: “Perceptions of Mental Illness Among Caretakers: An Ethnographic Study of a Community-Based Mental Health Clinic in Punjab, India”Explored the relationship between culture and caretakers’ opinions on the cause and appropriate treatment of mental illnesses at a remote mental health clinic in rural Punjab through 26 semi- structured interviews and 8 months of participant observation.Presented research proposal to institutional research and ethics committees.Developed project proposal, methodology, and 80-question survey translated into Hindi and Punjabi, which collected over 20,000 data points.Attended 260 hours of Punjabi language at the American Institute of Indian Studies study via a Critical Language Enhancement Award.Oral presentation at 2023 Fulbright South & Central Asia Fulbright Conference, Kochi, Kerala.
