Working with administration, professional staff, and support staff to provide technology systems that support learning activities and various school initiatives, functions and operations.Some significant accomplishments since employment are expanding local PC populations, server population, print services, and various applications for both instructional and operational initiatives. From a single server expanding to over twenty servers and most recently planning a migration to virtual systems. From an initial PC population of approximately 90 PCs to now over 3000 devices (PCs, MACs, laptops, iPads, etc. One of the most significant was planning and managing a district owned fiber implementation for all facilities in and around the high school campus then later planning and implementing connections to all outlying schools and building by leasing dark fibers. All school buildings are now connected with 10GB fiber connections. This infrastructure helps facilitate many initiatives and greatly improves implementation timelines. The strategies and methods employed have significantly reduced connectivity costs over time and costs incurred with implementation have long been recovered while continuing to pay dividends.Another area of emphasis has been to assist with outside funds procurement and efficient cost savings with funds expenditures with both internal funds and external funding received. Served as Erate coordinator since program inception. Erate is a federal program which provides funds to schools and libraries for specific technology items in acquisition, service, and maintenance. Erate planning requires analysis of existing systems, research and analysis of eligible products and services, preparing and posting requests for proposals, reviewing, evaluating and selecting proposals, purchasing, implementation, and funds reimbursement management for all approved applications.

Began employment as programmer analyst primarily using RPGII and later structured RPG to develop and maintain various programming applications needed for bank operations. promoted to data processing manager and later Vice-president supervising bank technology systems and technical staff.Migrated general ledger system to computer based application.Automated payroll processing system to generate automatic deposits to employee accounts and internal accounting entries related to payroll.Planned and assisted with developing an automated internal accounts payable system; initiating automated payments, general ledger entries, and custom reporting analysis.Developed systems for various methods of bank fraud detection. Implemented first ATM system in Southeast Missouri. Developed a targeted marketing system using in-house developed applications and procedures to identify loan candidates in existing customer base. System was used in marketing various types of loans and many other development programs. Developed systems and applications to automate tracking and correspondence with past due loans and as result reduced the percentage of late and past due loans significantly. Developed systems and applications to identify individual customer profitability analysis allowing bank management to offer specific products and services while providing both bank and customer details about relationship.Developed specific applications and programs for new bank products such as home equity loans, certificates of deposit, etc.Developed applications and systems to provide detailed information for automated entry into asset liability management system. System helped manage profit margins for specific product lines and provide detailed reporting for management of bank.Maintained all bank applications after vendor suspended support and development for banks existing IBM mid-range system.notable achievement - Bank of Sikeston was named Site of Year by TechExec magazine

Attended drill training either weekly or monthly during separate periods of association during this time frame. Also traveled for two week temporary duty on several occasions for on site training. Initial job description was electronic technician (primarily radar) and then cross rating to Mineman (assembling and maintaining mines for later use).

Began as night operator on the first computer system used by area banks for various bank systems. Later received training for programming in NEAT (NCR proprietary system). Promoted to manager of computer systems overseeing operations during day and evening. Applications supported included all banking applications along with payroll processing for several bank customers, checking account analysis for various bank business customers, and served as a liaison for bank processing services provided for several area banks. The latter included custom programming, migration to in-house systems, reconciliation, and general customer relations.

Attended basic Electricity and Electronics school on San Diego CA. Prerequisite for attending Electronics A school in San Francisco CA. After graduation assigned to USS Okinawa based in Long Beach CA. while on board served as test equipment petty officer maintaining serviceability for all ET department test equipment. also assisted with maintenance and operation of other ship electronics. A highlight of the tour was the Okinawa being selected as the prime recovery ship for Apollo 15.My specific assignment was with the providing assistance with initial tracking return of capsule reentry helping the ship to navigate for out of water pick up. This was a fascinating and memorable experience. Ship also served as flag ship off shore Vietnam in late 1971 and 1972 providing Medivac facilities and pilot recovery for downed aircraft.
