UNCDF Local Development Finance Practice (LDFP) promotes and supports transformative investments through local governments and domestic banks in LDCs by piloting and scaling up innovative financing mechanisms and policies in the public and private sectors.As Investments Impact Officer, my responsibilities include:- Develop impact indicators, KPIs, data collection plan & reporting by engaging with Local Development Thematic Advisors and Investment Officers- Support the local development Senior Investment Manager in preparing investment impact recommendations on project proposals at the pre-investment stage.- Support the updating and maintaining of the Local Development Dual Key Pipeline Management database for impact targets and progress on each investment in the region- Implement the yearly plan to monitor, collect and report on the development impact indicators against the approved frameworks- Support the Local Development Senior Investment Manager to develop the costing plan for the financial and impact M&E, data collection and reporting in the region.- Provide regular reporting on development impact, stories from the field, inputs into corporate reporting and results-based monitoring- Update the risk logs for each investment in the Dual Key Database- Collect and analyze data on the private sector, public private partnerships and municipal investment finance to make evidence-based decisions to better contribute to outcome level change

Backpack Technologies Inc. is a silicon valley based Y-Combinator graduated tech start-up which enables people from countries where there is no official Amazon or other big e-commerce retail stores to bring products from US, UK and India by using a unique traveler model. As a Growth Manager in Backpack my responsibilities are:- Creating a growth engine for travelers who use Backpack as a service. - Leading Backpack’s COVID-19 Response project by procuring authentic certifiable masks and running the campaign- Redesigning Backpack’s service workflow to make it more user-friendly and optimized.- Finding new avenues of business

GFA Consulting Group is implementing the European Union Funded and Government of Bangladesh funded PRISM Programme in Bangladesh since 2016.The overall objective of the Poverty reduction through Inclusive and Sustainable Markets (PRISM) programme is to strengthen and support the Ministry of Industries and its agencies involved with SME/SMCI development, in particular the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), on knowledge management, capacity building and coordination among other stakeholders.I worked in the PRISM programme as a Junior Short-Term Expert for Strategic Planning, Functional and Human Resource Analysis of BSCIC. As a Junior Short-Term Expert, I:- Assessed current organizational structure and review positions in all functional areas and identifying gaps and areas of improvement in BSCIC.- Reviewed and identified whether the current staffing levels are appropriate to meet workloads in each functional area and conducting a detailed skills audit.- Developed an organizational restructuring proposal, including design of a new organogram for BSCIC.- Designed and developed an organizational development plan for BSCIC.- Developed a detailed monitoring and evaluation plan for BSCIC.

In order to be a more research backed organization, BSCIC called for applicants to conduct a study on “State of Women Entrepreneurs in Small Enterprises: What’s Different for them? What problems do they face?”. I was selected as the Principal Researcher based on my proposal. As Principal Researcher I did the following:- Designed the entire research & developed data collection instruments.- Managed a field team for data collection.- Conducted KIIs and FGDs with different private, government and non-governmental stakeholders.- Analyzed qualitative data from 6 districts.- Conducted a validation workshop based on the findings and presented the study to the board members of BSCIC and Ministry of Industries.

BSCIC called for applicants to conduct another study during the same time on “Evaluation of BSCIC’s SME Technology Dissemination Mechanism Program”. My colleague and I won the proposal and I was the co-researcher for this study. This study mainly focused on creating a standardized technology transfer mechanism for BSCIC so that they could provide entrepreneurs with appropriate low-cost technologies. As associate researcher I:- Assisted in designing the research.- Conducted KIIs & IDI with different stakeholders, such as laboratories, scientists, professors and experts.- Conducted assessment of software & hardware suitability in BSCIC’s Industrial Service Centers.- Assisted in creating a new technology transfer mechanism for BSCIC.- Conducted a validation workshop based on the findings and presented the study to board members of BSCIC and Ministry of Industries.

The Nielsen Company was hired as a consulting agency by SOS Children’s Village Bangladesh to conduct Health & Education Assessment in Bangladesh. The aim of the project was to assess whether the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools and SOS Vocational Training Centers in Bangladesh were serving the relevant target group and if they would be self-sustainable by 2019. My responsibilities were:- Training the field team visiting the different SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools in Dhaka, Khulna, Bogra and Bagerhat.- Visiting SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Khulna to conduct FGD, KII and IDI with relevant stakeholders.- Analyzing all the data from 4 SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools and 3 SOS Vocational Training Center.- Designing the reporting framework.- Producing both qualitative and quantitative reports for the assessment.

A boutique advisory practice in New York City, Lexington Advisory Board offers technical expertise and specialized advisory services to companies in both private and public sector around the globe. Currently conducting a research for a local NGO in NYC called ASHA which assists Bangladeshi American Children & Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a Research Consultant my responsibilities were:- Conducting community need assessment survey for Autism Society Habilitation Association (ASHA) in 5 boroughs in New York City.- Designing survey questionnaire and research task flow.- Translating survey instruments.- Conducting interviews with families with children suffering from Autism.- Analyzing data and producing qualitative and quantitative reports.

Xseer (formerly known as eTashafi) is a Dubai based Medical Tourism start-up. Being a start-up in need of guidance, Xseer sought my help to launch their services in time. As a Service Designer:- I served as an advisor in defining project scope with value adding solutions conveyed through design activities.- I established relationships and liaised with with key stakeholders, becoming the point person in collecting high impact data & insights.- I distilled business, customer and partner constraints into components that promote innovative design solutions.- I helped designing & develop the website using Adobe XD and WordPress- Monitored and managed social media strategies and provided social media training.- Assisted in the preparation of quarterly metrics reports to determine effectiveness of communications efforts and pinpoint areas needing improvement- Created a service blueprint of how Xseer should work to provide their service.- Prepared training materials for new hires and conducted updated training classes for current employees with regards to the latest communication techniques.- Implemented and led SCRUM technique within the team for fast and effective results.- Developed and implemented regional internal and external communication plan- Designed company assets (branded cards, letterheads, brochures)- Devised the Brand Story and circulated it in relevant media.

iQuantile is a New York based tech start-up with offices in Bangladesh and US. They specialize in creating SaaS platforms for different types of businesses. During my time in iQuantile:- I collected and assimilated customer data to guide decision making process.- I helped ensure the building of a user-focused product while aligning the design teams with management.- I supported in creating sustainable products that advance the company strategy.- I made sure that the software applications that iQuantile developed were tailored for the end user's needs. The British Council initiated a project called Connecting Culture in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal which aimed to connect students around the world first through web and eventually in real life to exchange their culture & history. The Institute of Social Science in Pakistan was selected for conducting baseline and evaluation of the project. I was employed as the National Consultant for Bangladesh to conduct the survey by visiting a total of 12 schools in Dhaka & Rajshahi City. My responsibilities were:- Conducting baseline survey and evaluation for Connecting Culture Project implemented by The British Council- Translating survey instruments- Administrative and management duties in arranging the survey- Evaluating the project by doing interviews, survey and focus group discussions

The Nielsen Company conducts various market and social research for different organizations. I worked on Nielsen Company (Bangladesh) Ltd’s internal audit as an External Research Associate, where I worked closely with Nielsen Global’s internal auditors. I also worked in Nielsen’s Market Insights team as an external research associate where I did research work for companies like Proctor & Gamble, Hindustan Unilever, bKash to name a few. During my time in Nielsen:- I served as a National Consultant for a British Council research that was in collaboration with Institute of Social Sciences.- I worked on research design, instrument development and monitoring & evaluation of various social research.- I worked as an interpreter for The Global Audit team during the internal audit of Nielsen Company Ltd.- I worked as an interpreter for Hindustan Unilever’s Laundry Team- I worked as a moderator conducting in-depth interviews of different household for Hindustan Unilever Laundry Team- I gathered market insights for Proctor & Gamble- Conducted focus group discussions for bKash for customer insight.
