As a Student Council Member of SPE-KL, I have been actively involved in organizing and publicizing key initiatives across various student chapters in Malaysia. My role involves liaising with these chapters to ensure effective communication and collaboration, helping bridge the gap between them and SPE-KL. I work closely with event planning teams, ensuring the successful execution of major SPE-KL events, from volunteering efforts to handling key tasks whenever student council is involved for any industrial level events.One of my notable achievements was spearheading the 2nd session of Energy Career Aspiration Networking Series (ECANS) in 2024, where we hosted industry leaders and mentors from prestigious companies like Hibiscus Petroleum, Steelhawk, Petronas, SLB, and ExxonMobil. This event provided students with valuable networking opportunities and attracted top professionals from the industry. I am also actively involved in the planning of the upcoming SPE Energy Run 2025, contributing as part of the registration and sponsorship team.

As the External Affairs Director, I have been instrumental in connecting our student chapter with industry professionals, helping to organize key events such as the Internship Sharing Session (2020). I have hosted and facilitated various SPE-UCSI events, ensuring we bring on board expert speakers for our university. Beyond event management, I work closely with industry partners to secure speakers for other universities.Under my leadership, SPE-UCSI has earned multiple awards, and I have been personally recognized for my contributions. I serve on the SPE-KL Student Council and in 2023, was nominated for the Outstanding Leader Award by SPE-KL, a prestigious recognition given to a select few from over 2,000 students across different Student Chapters here in Malaysia.

As an Operations & Maintenance Intern at reNIKOLA Sdn Bhd, I gained practical experience with both solar plant operations and renewable energy research. I worked with Huawei Solar Software for simulating and optimizing solar plants, contributing to the maintenance of the Kuala Muda site, which contains over 100,000 solar panels.During a two-day site visit to the 30 MW plant in Kuala Muda, Kedah and the 4.2 MW plant in Arau, Perlis, I was assigned to perform thermal scans on solar panels to identify potential defects. This hands-on fieldwork complemented my broader role in assisting with documentation for all of reNIKOLA’s Large-Scale Solar (LSS) projects.Key tasks: • Mapped around 300 substations across Malaysia using Google Earth Pro. This project supports reNIKOLA’s future power plant planning, whether solar, biogas, or hydroelectric, by ensuring accurate substation mapping for efficient project execution. • Delivered extensive research on micro-hydro systems to the O&M team, supporting renewable energy diversification efforts. • Spearheaded research for the National Energy Awards (NEA) 2024, keeping reNIKOLA competitive in the industry. • Represented reNIKOLA at key industry events such as POPSIG and PIPOC 2023 at KLCC, where I helped increase the company’s visibility. • Contributed to the Grissik-Singapore biogas mapping project, identifying a pipeline route and locating critical infrastructure like compressor and metering stations, expanding my involvement in the biogas sector.This internship provided me with comprehensive exposure to both the technical and strategic sides of renewable energy, particularly in solar and biogas.

As a sales intern at SOLS Energy, I had the incredible opportunity to work for a company that shares my passion for sustainability and renewable energy. It was a dream come true for me to contribute towards creating a greener future by promoting and selling solar energy solutions. My key responsibilities included conducting detailed competitor analysis, creating technical spec sheets, and briefing the sales team on competitors PV systems. I actively participated in sales meetings and presentations and even conducted my own workshop training just four weeks into the internship. Additionally, I was responsible for conducting system monitoring for clients using software, handling issues, and updating the team. I also conducted site visits for pre- and post-installation, management, and updating of files for drone shoots. Moreover, I worked closely with the sales engineer to gain an in-depth understanding of field sales and the relationship between sales and engineering.Key Responsibilities:1) Conducted detailed competitor analysis, providing valuable data still in use by the company.2) Created technical spec sheets and briefed the sales team on competitors PV systems.3) I participated in sales meetings and presentations and conducted my own workshop training.4) Conducted system monitoring for clients using software and addressed any issues, keeping the team updated.5) Conducted site visits for pre- and post-installation, managing, and updating files for drone shoots.6) Worked alongside the sales engineer to gain an in-depth understanding of field sales and engineering.Contributing to the sales team at SOLS Energy and being able to promote sustainable energy solutions was an incredibly fulfilling experience for me.
