As the Quality Management Representative (QMR), my responsibility is to visibly lead as the quality role model to imbibe quality and lean principles as part of the organization’s working culture from the head of the organization to the blue-collar shopfloor associates. We do this by ensuring a robust and sustainable strategic Quality Management System is in place with strong management commitment. Through regular management reviews, the business policies, procedures and processes are maintained and improved to support the organisation.Reporting the organisation’s quality performance through internal and external cockpits allows for transparent reporting, allowing us the opportunity to benchmark our results.Interactions with local & international, internal & external stakeholders, the organization is spearheaded, and mentored to support a Quality North Star, ie. We need to be better than yesterday! The organisation’s quality resources are optimally planned and strategically deployed to support the organisation’s commitment to our customers. Competencies are benchmarked within thegGroup, to ensure personal growth of the organisation.Collaborating with Suppliers and the supply chain, lean manufacturing and strategic quality initiatives are developed to deliver robust results. New Model launches are led and steered enabling quality to be planned and not rectified after launch handover by assessing product design requirements against internal competencies and capabilities.Developing a Lean Manufacturing strategy for the organization, allows for the organization to support and develop standards, identify trends to stimulate a culture of continuous improvement and ultimately improve business results through efficiencies.
