Olympic Programme Manager, Traffic Directorate, Surface TransportTransport For London Apr 2011 - Feb 2012Transport For LondonBeing the Olympic Programme Manager for Traffic Operations encompassed the scoping, control, coordination and delivery of the necessary changes to systems, people, processes and infrastructure required for the Games. This included the delivery of signal schemes to protect the Olympic Route Network, CCTV, Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras, roadworks embargoes, consumption of GPS tracking data, network monitoring and reporting of performance metrics and the Games Time command and control structures. My attention to active risk and issue management plus scope and change control were vital in delivering this complex programme. Agroforestry Development Adviser- Projecto AgrosilvopastorilGuinea Bissau For Snv Netherlands Aug 1992 - Jul 1996Bafata Then Gabu In Guinea BissauFollowing on from my work as a volunteer and now speaking Portuguese creole, I was asked to join a Dutch funded development project focussing on Integrated Village Land Management. My speciality was horticulture, tree planting and bushfire education. I worked predominantly with women via agroforestry extension workers and improved their lives though income generation and the inclusion in key environmental discussions of the village elders. This engagement with complex hierarchies and village politics has held me in good stead for many later career opportunities. Due to the strict self sustaining principles used, this project and its teachings was continued by locals without external funding or advisers during and following several coup d'états.
