Senior Human Resources Specialist
CurrentConducts full cycle recruitment efforts for all job classifications Commission-wide. Discusses and recommends recruitment strategies to field HR representatives, division chiefs, deputy directors and department heads. Creatively writes and strategically advertises vacancy announcements using various media (i.e., online and print) to create a highly qualified and competent applicant pool. Monitors recruitment activity to ensure effectiveness, and modifies strategy accordingly. Attends job fairs, attracts applicants and promotes the Commission as an employer-of-choice. Receives, reviews and evaluates employment applications and resumes against minimum qualifications; and certifies eligibility; creates and manages eligibility listings; and forwards qualified candidates to selecting official. Reviews, modifies, validates, develops and recommends interview questions. Reviews interview packages, certifies accuracy and reports and follows-up on discrepancies; validates candidate selections; and facilitates salary negotiations and discussions concerning other related aspects of employment. Develops and conducts Commission-wide trainings on recruitment policy and procedure; and answers questions and explains recruitment procedures to Commission staff and applicants. Contributes expertise in team discussions to develop recruitment program and streamline recruitment processes.
