Software developer for the InfoEd Enterprise application, used across hundreds of educational and scientfic institutions. I sought pragmatic and agile solutions to existing code-base that utilizes VBScript and .Net and stores data using either MSSQL or Oracle databases. I created runnable scripts to move mass amounts of data around hundreds of databases across multiple database applications. I also implemented patches to client Window’s servers using various secure protocols. In addition to that, I created technical manuals for new employees and code-patches.

At Girls by Design, I participated in founding concepts and goals for the company. I created data-models and documentation using Omnigraffle for Mac and various other tools. I also generated solutions for ticket tracking and help requests using Trac. The owners of Girls by Design needed someone to take their vision and mission and turn it into a physical reality. I created a large set of documentation and programmed, using my “Essence Core” framework, an initial prototype of very basic features for alpha users to use. I turned all of the Girls by Design ideas into a documented process to hand to the development team for the beta version of the website.

I served as a freelance writer and published several articles with the Albany GAES Magazine. I wrote articles relating to the magazines topic that aimed at helping people with their orientation and self-acceptance.

At SodaHead, I developed large-scale gui for the social network using Django templating system. I managed and maintained front-end user-interface using models and controllers created by the engineers. I tested code in all accepted platforms and browsers to ensure cross compatibility and degradation. I managed intern program to facilitate a consistent work flow for the marketing and sales team as a side project.Sodahead founders sought me out to be a junior founding team member of their organization because of my work on one of my contracted client’s websites. I was able to quickly turnover an entire front end for the months of back-end work they were using by paying close attention to detail and hand-coding from a set of illustrator files. After their alpha product was launched, we went straight into developing their new second version of the website. I worked alongside other javascript/DOM and css experts to create a smooth 2.0 version of the website that allowed for greater interactivity for the early users.

As a senior software engineer, it was my job to enhance the internal administrative functions and systems to maintain day-to-day operations.

At Bitscribe, I developed web-based software solutions for clients and their businesses using primarily php and MySQL or Postgres. I actively participated in code-reviews and unit testing. I maintained general daily maintenance for fast-paced websites. Bitscribe, in many ways, served as an educational stomping ground that I have taken with me to every job since then.

At Hamon & Associates, I was a junior developer primarily responsible for implementing new features and creating mini-websites for clients of Hamon such as Thermador and Bosch appliances. I worked on a rewrite project to rewrite the Bosch Home Appliances website from an antiquated VBScript-based website to a Coldfusion website. I created many feature changes and sweepstakes and launches as well as improved the dealer location application on both websites. In addition, I also created new tools/widgets to help internal operations using javascript.

At Northwest Nazarene University, I managed scheduling for a team of Support Specialists and helped resolve conflicts amongst the customer base. I maintained campus hardware and researched common computer hardware, software, and user error issues to solve them. I also assisted manager in providing personnel support for 10+ student workers and provided input to manager regarding bi-annual employee evaluations. I managed monthly time-sheets and arranged permanent schedule per semester as well as individual shift replacements. I also wrote technical documents such as employee handbook, procedure handbook, and several self-help documents and trained students and faculty on how to use the technology we supported at the University.
