At BMS World Mission, I love to interact with our wonderful supporters and lead a team of ambitious fundraisers to achieve a voluntary income of £6.5m/year, which is used to help thousands of people in marginalised countries and those who needed to flee their country. I also qualified as a lawyer with an expertise in human rights law and international refugee law and am particularly interested in human trafficking. I practised during my legal training in Pune, Geneva and Freiburg and continue to apply my legal knowledge for Hope for Justice in the UK, volunteering with some research. For more than two years, I was the chair of trustees at AMERA International and managed the day to day running of the charity and the Rights in Exile programme, a well-established ‘one-stop shop’ of resources for legal aid providers and refugees, globally. I was responsible for AMERA's internship programme and worked with the organisation in Egypt, where I conducted research on persecution in South Sudan and supported asylum applications with independent reports. Academically, I focused on how to strengthen the rule of law through the wording of international conventions and on the protection of refugees who also experienced human trafficking. I am passionate about the protection of and legal aid for refugees and victims of modern slavery. As a fundraiser I love that my team and I can transform the lives of so many with the work we do every day.
