If “behind every successful man, there is a strong woman”, then who is behind every successful woman? Well, in my case, it is a team of strong women, and men, in my family.A former coworker once told me that I was not smart enough to pursue a college degree. For five years I believed that, until my family helped me to realize that no one else gets to decide what I can or cannot do.Like Bambi, my legs were shaking when I took my first step towards academic life. However, with continuous encouragement and support from friends, family, and my current team at work, I reached my first academic milestone in 2018 when I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College summa cum laude. My journey didn't end there, as I’m currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting from George Mason University with the same passion. I eventually plan to utilize my 15 years of experience in accounts receivable to transition into an auditing role. By achieving my goals, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves. Words hold the power to help someone shape their future according to their dreams, so we must use them wisely.
