Trial experience includes second seat in a USDC bench trial, second seat in USDC jury trial and second seat in a Middlesex Superior Bench trial. I conducted direct and redirect examination of witnesses, presented opening arguments and written and argued motions in limine. I represented the Department of Correction’s interest in Massachusetts State Court on Criminal Rule 17 motions, discovery and hearings. I regularly provided in-house counsel to chief Department of Correction officials. As Regulations Counsel, I also conducted legal reviews for each Department of Correction regulation and policy and prepare the regulations for promulgation pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act (“APA”), which included convening and administrating public hearings.
