About Tabitha Cochran
Hello everyone! My name is Tabitha Cochran, and I am a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS). I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies- emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, in 2013, from the University of South Alabama. I acquired my certification in December of 2014 and is annually renewed. I have been working as a CTRS in inpatient & outpatient psychiatric facilities since 2013, but I have gathered other community-based experience during this time as well.My main purpose is to improve a persons’ quality of life despite any physical/mental limitations. I am trained to provide personal goal-based treatment plans and 1:1 assessments so that I may assist/introduce a client to modified activities, exercises, and coping skills. I have acquired experience with many age groups beginning with adolescents at age 12 through late adulthood clients in their 90's. I am creative, energetic, and passionate about Recreational Therapy and providing the best patient/client centered care imaginable.

Hello everyone! My name is Tabitha Cochran and I'm a (nationally) Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS). I obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Leisure Studies- Emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, in 2013, from the University of South Alabama. My certification was acquired in December of 2014 and is annually renewed. I have been working as a CTRS in inpatient & outpatient psychiatric facilities since 2013, but I have gathered other community-based experience during this time as well. I'm in search for a rewarding job that feeds my passion for Recreational Therapy as well as challenges me to utilize all areas of my degree. So often people assume that we are "Activities Therapists" but that is inaccurate. We are nationally accredited, degree holding, goal-based therapists whose main purpose is to improve a persons quality of life despite any physical/mental limitations. I'm trained to provide personal goal-based treatment plans and 1:1 assessments so that I may assist/introduce a client to modified activities, exercises, and coping skills. I've acquired experience in many age groups beginning with adolescents at age 12- late adulthood clients in their 90's. I'm full of energy, passion, creativity and ready for my next big adventure.
