Assist with oversight of import, export, and trade activities to ensure compliance with U.S. Government, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Review shipment files and logistics operations to ensure compliance. • Assist Empowered Official in determining U.S. Government license requirements• Ensure compliance with approved licenses and other forms of export/import approvals including notification and training of relevant personnel on limitations, provisos and other forms of restrictions and/or prohibitions.• Work with internal departments to prepare all export/import license applications, agreements, and other forms of requests for submission.• Prepare final export license and agreement drafts for corporate office review• Monitor and track progress of all export/import requests once submitted to U.S. Government Agencies.• Determine and verify applicable exemption/exception and destination control statements on import and export shipment documents• Determine commodity jurisdiction, HTS/Schedule B classification and ECCN’s.

• Skilled in restricted party screening and process development with demonstrated success in minimizing fines and penalties associated with trade compliance violations.• Experienced in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a product classification database, documenting all import/export tariff classifications, ECCNs, and license requirements and status.• Demonstrated ability to employ a range of techniques to lead, coach, and train staff on all aspects of import/export licensing and compliance strategy and regulations.• Corporate liaison experienced in working with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and brokers in developing and adhering to solid import/export procedures and transportation schedules.• Proven ability to accurately interpret and communicate company policy and government regulations as they apply to products, processes, practices and procedures related to international trade activities.• Proficiency in the audit of compliance practices and policies, skilled in the investigation and resolution of compliance issues from government regulatory agencies with proven success in reversing adverse decisions.• Solid knowledge of HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, ISF, and AES filings and associated product classifications.
