I am a student at Baldwin Wallace University interested in a career in International Trade Compliance and Logistics. Working toward an International Business B.A., I have strived to look for opportunities that in the Cleveland related to export assistance. Attending Cleveland Council of World Affairs discussions during the school year I am developing an understanding on the political side of business. My internship at Cleveland’s International Trade Administration office provided a firsthand view into the world of international sales and logistics. During this time, I gained insight into the many aspects that go into international trade and narrowed down my desired field into international trade compliance. Starting an in-depth class on international logistics at Cleveland State University, I have gained a stronger understanding of many of the topics I touched on during my internship and have further cemented my interest in trade compliance.Previous to my college career, my efforts were focused in customer service by working as a server and hostess at Woodstock Café, in Vermilion, OH. Customer interaction both in person and over the phone were essential. Through a remote position at Andrena, I communicated via Slack and researched possible locations for Wi-Fi Routers and satellites on rooftops. Basic math including calculating the Fresnel radius of the satellites in relation to surrounding buildings was required, as well as documenting the addresses in Google Sheets.
