As the Support Coordinator at Noaks Ark Mosaik in Malmö, Sweden, I work primarily with people living with HIV and their families. This work is psychosocial and includes support with migration, health, coordinating social activities and support with community orientation in Sweden. An important part of my work is also advocacy and prevention though workshops and testing.My background is in the field of Sexology and Social Work. My ambition is to work in the field of sexual health promotion and advocacy. Human rights and equality are central to my motivation. Integrity and ethical conduct are very important to me in my work in order to achieve the best possible results for those individuals I aspire to help.I have a variety of work experience with vulnerable groups. I worked with an anti-trafficking organisation where I supported survivors of sex trafficking and domestic violence in a safe house through contact with authorities (police, migration officers, welfare officers), community orientation, counselling support, and motivational activities. Coordinating and leading outreach teams was also a large part of my work, both online and on the streets. During my social work degree, I had a work placement in Ghana, Africa, where I educated school children about child sexual abuse through interactive workshops about protective behaviours and consent. During most of my studies, I worked at a care home for elderly people with cognitive and/or physical disabilities due to addiction. My work placement during my master’s degree was with the Department of Health with the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses Program, where I edited and updated sex education resources for school children and teachers.Through my wide work experience and education, I have developed skills in leadership, effective communication, counselling, public speaking as well as safeguarding and working with confidentiality and record keeping. Living in eight different countries throughout my life, I have encountered many cultures and customs. Moving around gave me a unique ability to adapt and thrive in new environments.Equality, advocacy, and education are my main passions. I am a positive, social, and deeply motivated person with a desire to help people. I aspire to continue developing as a professional, be challenged in my work, as well as grow with new experiences.
