Work in a team-based environment to provide care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, as well as long-term survivorship care. I was responsible for organizing and receiving specimens into the laboratory, ensuring the flow of testing proceeded smoothly. I acted as liaison between medical providers and med techs. Microbiology: Receive, organize, and set up culture specimens. Maintain proper storage of specimens. Stock, inventory, and supply ordering. Cytology/Pathology: Assist in bone marrow aspirations with oncologists. Prepare bone marrow samples for pathology review and tertiary testing.
