• Adhere to Code of Virginia laws and Attorney General Guidelines regarding victim rights and services, work to ensure victims are financially compensated, notified of their rights and are provided with the support they need to cope with the impact of crime. • Complete timely completion of reports regarding eligibility, productivity, and claim activities.• Ensure offender billing information is up-to-date and coordinate follow-ups with Commonwealth Attorneys for restitution orders and redirect requests.• Coordinate efforts with various law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, social services, health, employment, and advocacy organizations to obtain documentation necessary as proof of crime-related expenses incurred by victims and claimants.• Utilize empathy and respect in order to provide trauma-centered and strengths-based approaches to intervention aimed to help victims discover skills and coping strategies to help manage future triggers.• Collaborated with Richmond City VW, DCJS, VVF: Sr. Claims Examiner, Assistance Director, and Director regarding response/assistance to the Altria Theater Shooting – June 2023.• Ability to review, process, and handle complex claims and claims with multiple victims. • Attended the two-day FAC Workshop provided by VDEM/NTSB – August 2023.• Review law enforcement investigative reports for all claims in a high-volume, fast-paced environment to determine eligibility of claims and whether the victim of such crime contributed to the infliction of his injury. • Communicate consistently via phone and email with law enforcement and Victim/Witness Advocates to ensure the victim is cooperative throughout the criminal justice process for all claims submitted.
