My job is to bring data-informed decision-making to Child Development Services, a unit within the Department of Human Services whose mission is to a) improve the quality of child care so that children succeed in school and in life, and b) support parents in finding and accessing quality child care. Within the CDS team, my role is to: - Plan for the development of new data systems to better serve clients, to more effectively implement programs, and to collect the data needed to inform decision-making - Oversee data collection and data quality through existing data systems - Analyze existing data to inform policy making and continuous improvement of program implementation - Manage contracts with vendors to conduct research and evaluation projects as needed - Monitor trends in research and policy to keep the team up-to-date on best practices in the field.
