After receiving a partial academic law school scholarship, she attended and graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia in 1999, wherein she was editor for the Women's Law Journal. Atty.. Ponder previously worked as an Insurance Defense Attorney for the firm of Clyatt, Clyatt & Golden in Valdosta, Georgia. Upon leaving Clyatt, Clyatt & Golden, she entered a partnership limited to real estate and personal injury law, which later dissolved. In 2008, Atty. Ponder opened her firm, focusing primarily on Injury Law and Real Estate. In addition to practicing law, for 17 years, Atty. Ponder has worked as a Pre-Law Adjunct Professor for Kaplan University and Albany State University. She is also a member of the Georgia Bar Association, wherein she currently serves on the Access to Justice Committee, American Bar Association, Georgia Criminal Defense/ Trial Attorneys, Georgia Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), GAWL, The Commerce Club and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. In 2017, she was appointed as a Special Master in Cobb County Superior Court; and as a Contract Attorney (Director) for the Judicial Council's Access to Justice Committee.
