Internship Project Title: Real-Time Speech-to-Intent Processing on Syntiant NDP120 Board1. Developed a direct speech-to-intent model on the Syntiant NDP120 (Neural Decision Processor) board for smart home automation, bypassing traditional speech-to-text processing to enhance efficiency and security.2. Engineered the processing of audio into Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients using TensorFlow, and trained various neural network models (Vanilla Conv2D, LSTM, residual connections, depthwise convolutions) to achieve intent and slot accuracy ranging from 68.75% to 90.62%. Gained insights into deep learning concepts.3. Implemented the project using Python and Jupyter Notebook for real-time audio processing with minimal latency. Used RealVNC for remote access, SSH for file transfers, and learned Linux commands and Vim. Also flashed the Syntiant OS (built on Linux) image on an SD card using Raspberry Pi Imager as the Syntiant NDP120 is built over a Raspberry Pi 3B+ board. Additional tasks were given to explore the ESP-IDF (Espressif IoT Development Framework) and XMOS platforms.

Selected for the Infineon Technologies Summer Camp 2024 with a focus on embedded systems, I successfully completed an intensive 12-week program utilizing the Cypress Semiconductor CY8CKIT-149 PSoC 4100 Plus Prototyping Kit. During this program, I gained substantial hands-on experience in the following areas: -Development of Makefiles, Linker Scripts, and startup code -Creation of bare-metal projects -Analysis of computer organization and design principles -Peripheral programming -Design and implementation of basic device drivers and event-driven applications -Reading and extracting useful information from Technical Reference Manuals, including Architecture TRM and Register TRM.I acquired a deep understanding of GPIOs, Timers, ADCs, Interrupts, and TRNGs, employing GNU binutils for development. I also developed skills in debugging using GDB and OpenOCD, including remote debugging via TELNET client and OpenOCD. The program covered communication protocols such as I2C, UART, and SPI, with practical demonstrations using a logic analyzer. Additionally, I was introduced to applications like Bridge Control Panel and Termite, and demonstrated motor control through PWM and interrupts.
