With the help of advanced tools such as Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Custom Activity, Litmus Test and Datorama we manage projects efficiently and deliver superior marketing outcomes, positioning our company at the forefront of innovation in customer journey orchestration.As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultant, I had also the incredible opportunity to work on something quite unique—implementing SMS Integration with third party SMS service provider like Twilio using Custom Activity in Journey Builder. In Salesforce Marketing Cloud, custom activities are configurable interfaces that allow users to run custom processes when a contact reaches a custom activity in a published Journey. These processes can include: Data processing, API calls, JavaScript functions, Data exchange, and Connecting to external In-App messaging systems. Custom activities can be used in situations where standard activities are not suitable, and they can also be more efficient. This project involved sending messages to millions of customers through a REST API, a complex technology that’s rarely implemented. Even most Marketing Cloud architects aren’t deeply familiar with it. I’m proud to have tackled this challenging task, as it allowed me to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Working on this project was an eye-opening experience, and it gave me a chance to dive deep into a niche area of technology that not many have explored. Salesforce Customer Support doesn't provide support for the custom Journey Builder events and activities. It is exciting to know that my work contributed to something so advanced and impactful in the world of digital marketing.
