The IT manager is responsible for major initiatives looking at the strategic issues and the overall effectiveness of the IT department, overseeing the IT budget and doing the management, supervision, purchase of hardware and software, professional development, and monitoring of training plans. He is also responsible for the architecture and strategic planning and cost as well as engage in understanding the evolution of technology and how to maximize the value of technology investments in the institution, including business continuity and backup platforms.
