- medicine reconciliation on a variety of patients including medicine, general surgical, bariatric, HIV, oncology, women and children, and mental health.- counsel patients/carers on their medicines and devices- assessing of patient own drugs - transcribing of non-ward stock medicine- perform on ward dispensing and bedside locker check to facilitate timely discharge- perform accuracy final check of dispensed items- facilitate in training of pharmacy apprentices and trainee pharmacists - participate in service improvements- support directorates in quarterly controlled drugs report- support nursing staff to ensure that wards are in line with Safe and Secure Storage and meets CQC requirements- engage with nursing staff and other members of MDT - ensure stock availability on wards - training nursing staff to perform medication history in pre-operative assessment

Lead technician in outpatient dispensary with the following duties:- ensure a good skill mix in the dispensary on a daily basis- training pre-registration pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists in labelling and dispensing outpatient prescriptions, patient counselling on a variety of medicines and devices - calculating prescription charges (NHS and private)- line managed pharmacy assistants and band 4 technicians- participated in yearly appraisals- supporting junior staff members - dealing with challenging patients- participate in streamlining the service

Rotated through each section of the pharmacy such as inpatient and outpatient dispensary, mental health, sexual health and HIV, purchasing and technical services.Job role:- dispensing transcription, TTOs and outpatient prescriptions- dispensing ward stock controlled drugs- counsel patients/carers on their new medications and devices- calculate prescription charges (NHS and private)- manufacturing of chemotherapy and intrathecal medicines- manufacturing of non-sterile products such as suspensions and ointments- daily housekeeping tasks such as filing, stock checks and stock rotation- participate in ward stock top ups - keep up to date with GPHC requirements
