Taewook Cha is a registered landscape architect and founding principal of Supermass Studio where he oversees the process of all design projects in the office. He brings exceptional design and management leadership as well as an extensive construction expertise with over 25 years of experience both in the United States and internationally. His primary interest lies at the intersection of landscape, urbanism and ecology with a focus on “opportunistic diversity” and “unorthodox creativity” with conscious efforts on “socio/environmental responsibility." He sees opportunities in every project, large or small, commercial or public, residential or institutional, and brings out the best of each opportunity in an innovative and unconventional design approach that elevates the act of design into the act of what matters. In 2023, Taewook was inducted to the prestigious American Society of Landscape Architects Council of Fellows, the highest honor the ASLA bestows on its members. Supermass Studio is a critical, creative and collaborative design practice based in New York City with its roots grounded in landscape architecture, urbanism and ecology.
