One aspect I enjoyed about working at RTD was the opportunity to suggest improvements across a department and the ability to collaborate with many talented individuals within the company. Project Highlights: - Material Compatibility: I helped analyze different materials used in various RTD instruments and their physical properties. We combined mechanical and dimensional testing to see if materials behaved differently from exposure to various chemicals over time. - Advanced Staining: I assisted two project teams in developing separate, complex ISH assays over a period of 5 months. In that time I helped them reach important project milestones. In addition, I captured high quality microscopic images used in a Roche assay interpretation guide in 20% of the expected time. - Operations: I served as a tissue sample coordinator, project coordinator, and subject matter expert over a period of 6 months. Many of these roles required immense professional development and commitment. My role involved networking with various research groups within RTD, coordinating meetings and pathology read sessions, medical scribing, and presenting new data and project updates to both my project team and other small groups. In addition, I took on a small leadership role by mentoring 2 new colleagues who joined the project team.
