This process includes conducting referral and registration reviews, advising proponents on technical requirements through meetings and correspondence, and chairing Ministerial appointed interdepartmental environmental assessment committees, which recommend to the Minister and Executive on the adequacy of guidelines, environmental preview reports, environmental impact statements, and other scientific and technical submissions. The incumbent may also chair environmental monitoring committees, conduct field investigations and inspections, represent the department at meetings, draft cabinet submissions and briefing notes, and perform other related duties as required.
