After 15 years in Hospitality, many of which were spent in a Management role, I came to feel that it wasn’t quite for me and made the switch to Education with a specialisation in teaching EAL.Equity in education is a passion of mine, and I am particularly interested in continuing to learn how to best serve our EAL learners in that space. I would love to connect and collaborate with like-minded educators on that journey!I also spend time writing content for BEAR Learn because I absolutely adore a good old fashioned deep dive into a complex text. The process involves plucking out and analysing 50 (+bonus) quotes from VCE texts in a way that reflects high-quality textual knowledge, thinking, and interpretation. The reader then gets a quote a day for 50 (+bonus) days delivered to their inbox to support ongoing immersion with the texts. It’s an absolute joy to be a part of. I’m also back at Uni (again) this year to begin a Master in Applied Linguistics. Learning rocks.
