Zindagi Trust is engaged in reforming government schools and advocacy with the purpose of providing quality education to each child in Pakistan and follow best practices to change education policy at state level. My role is to oversee the organization's revenue growth, human resources, facility management and procurement, compliance and risk management functions to ensure the highest level of fiscal accountability and transparency at the Trust, along with strategically managing the funds and business partnership with the stakeholders.• Facilitate President and board with timely and accurate financial performance of the organization by submitting monthly and quarterly reports with prior period comparisons and reasons for variation. Preparation of yearly budgets and approval from board along with overseeing the variance analysis on monthly basis and submitting actual and projected cash flows.• Liaising with International and local Donors for reporting about utilization of their funds and prospective programs for disbursement of funds.• Compliance with regulatory laws under FBR, EAD, Trust Act, 2020, PCP and others. Effective tax planning in line with the applicable framework and provision.• Preparation and Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for all the key processes of the organization, ensuring strong governance and internal control framework to prevent errors, fraud and abuse of resources.• Implementation of the investment strategy for utilization of the available funds ensuring mitigation of risk by diversification in capital and money market portfolio. • Liaison with external stakeholders like Banks, Tax Advisors, Legal Advisors, Shariah Advisor etc for smoothly running of Organization's operations. Recently negotiated with banks for profit rates, which resulted in increase of bank profits by 25%.• Developing and implementing strategic procurement and HR function enabling effective and efficient utilization of resources.

Established and led Finance Department for Mahara Group comprising of 5 operating companies in Travel and Tourism, Hotel management, Retail, Interior Designing and Architecture Services, and Consumer Products sector in 5 countries. Served as Company secretary for all the companies in the group. My functional key responsibilities include leading and driving finance and corporate secretarial function for all group companies. Some of my key achievements include: • Establishment of finance function – Being one of the founder members of the Group, I was responsible to establish core finance function and a competent team with proper skill set and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures across the group.• Incorporation of entities – I was solely responsible to incorporate four limited liability companies, two in Pakistan, one in UAE and UK to carry out travel and tourism services, trading activities and hotel management operations.• Hotel Operations – I played a vital role in establishing our hotel operations in UAE and KSA. Scope of my responsibilities, includes leading finance department, obtaining license from legal departments of KSA and UAE, managing the team deployed in both the countries and decision-making role with respect to setting room rate for achieving targeted sales in different seasons, entering into various contracts including agreement of payment terms and other conditions with various suppliers.
