As I pursue my PhD journey at the department of Chemistry at the University of Georgia, I am working under the guidance of Dr. Rob Phillips, who works in enzyme kinetics and chemical biology, where we investigate the intricate mechanisms of enzyme-catalyzed reactions. Prior to joining this laboratory, I completed my MS thesis on sustainable green synthesis and the potential of CuO nanoparticles using Swietenia mahagoni sawdust lignin for biological and photocatalytic activity. During my undergraduate research, I explored computational screening of antiviral peptides against SARS-CoV-2, synthesized and characterized rhamnopyranoside-based fatty acid esters as antimicrobials, and investigated naturally occurring rhamnopyranosides as anticancer agents through molecular docking and ADMET studies. I founded the Chittagong University Research and Higher Study Society (CURHS), an organization dedicated to facilitating information and opportunities for students seeking to pursue higher studies abroad, and established The Learning Hub, a platform providing skill development and career guidance for fresh graduates in Bangladesh. With multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conference presentations under my belt, my ultimate goal is to decipher intricate chemical systems and propel scientific progress, while creating a positive impact in education and research through my work with CURHS and The Learning Hub.
