I taught myself Java when I was 16 and ever since then, I learned more languages and concepts such as Python, Machine Learning and Game Development. In my IDF service I have expanded my OOP and Python knowledge to more advanced fields as well as learned Data Science, Data Analysis and Machine Learning concepts.One of my projects was to create an algorithm to tag geo-information into various sub-categories. For this project we relied heavily on Machine Learning so there was a lot of work to do with the data. My main job was to do feature engineering and to create the necessary feature extraction algorithm and I have used Python and specifically pandas, numpy and matplotlib for this project. The project was a success and is currently in use in an operative environment.When I was in the Airborne Intelligence, we needed to do a repetitive task that would take hours of our time each day. So, in my spare time, I decided to work on a piece of software to automate this process. I have used Java and JavaFX to create a simple-to-use GUI application to automate this work.
