Built a credit scoring model for unbanked individuals using limited financial, business, and alternative data sources

Identified a data management bottleneck hindering breach investigations. Implemented an ETL solution using SQL and third-party software, resulting in faster Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) detection and improved client outcomes

• Assisted financial statement audit teams in analyzing manual journal entries and other transactions for possible irregularities using KPMG’s proprietary analytics tool. Duties included, but were not limited to the following: collecting and normalizing data, testing transaction populations for completeness, and performing data analytic routines to identify transactions that may require additional review or investigation.• As part of an investigation of alleged market manipulation by a metals warehousing company, performed data analysis to assist the company’s outside counsel during its investigation. Designed and utilized SQL scripts to identify patterns and anomalies on inventory data which might indicate inappropriate activity. • On behalf of outside counsel to an energy company, reviewed electronically stored information (e.g., emails, financial information) of certain company employees to investigate alleged inappropriate activity related to the misappropriation of assets and financial reporting. • Performed ongoing data management tasks for a global development organization. Duties included extracting, transforming and loading client’s financial disclosure data; writing queries in SQL to analyze the data; and, compiling a summary report to be sent to the client each month. • Assisted with an investigation of alleged tax evasion scheme by a financial institution. Duties included, but were not limited to the following: technical document review, report writing, and performing ad hoc analysis to understand the bank’s internal controls and procedures. • Assisted a financial services client in an alleged financial malpractice case. Worked with the client to investigate issues that had been flagged and resolved them. Collaborated with the client team to develop standard operating procedure documentation that would help in reducing errors in the client processes.

- Created an Excel model to perform valuation of a private automotive company using comparable company analysis. Selected key sales and profitability variables and gathered data using Bloomberg and annual reports.
