I am an Intellectual Property specialist experienced in all stages of IP development, licensing, and litigation. I routinely advise clients on strategy from incubation of IP through portfolio management, assertion, and defense. I am passionate about advocating for my clients, understanding their business, and developing creative solutions that solve problems and enable them to accomplish their goals.My experience litigating patents across technologies enables me to quickly identify issues and drive disputes to resolution. I have litigated cases in U.S. International Trade Commission, the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, the Eastern District of Virginia, the Southern District of California, the Northern District of California, the Central District of California, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and foreign and domestic trade commission proceedings. Those cases have involved a spectrum of issues including infringement, patent licensing, competition law claims, standard essential patents, and fair reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing commitments. Because I have seen what goes right and wrong in litigation and in licensing, I am an experienced advisor on patent strategy, prosecution, and licensing. I am also experienced with the underlying technology. I have dual degrees in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering that put to use every day in my patent litigation and patent prosecution work. I have involved with patenting inventions in electrical, software, mechanical, and biomedical technologies, including patents concerning inventions in telecommunications (such as 5G, 4G, and WiFi standards), computer/graphics processor architectures, microelectronics, analog and digital signal processing (including computing, artificial intelligence (AI), communications, audio, and imaging contexts), various bio-mechanical and bio-electrical systems and devices (including micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and surgical devices), and semiconductor fabrication techniques and machinery.Before law school I served as a Naval Officer forward deployed on ships in the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.
