Currently driving Jeep tours in the Rockies with Adventures Out West, but with a long career in video production, corporate communications, and event/web development.Résumé as a story: My communications career began as a copy boy at The Associated Press, followed by advertising at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer running proofs and tear sheets. I scored my first creative success composing music for the documentary "ROW!" while a student at the University of Washington. Over the next several years I sold pro audio, played in bands, produced corporate films, ran boom operator for a feature movie and recieved a degree in photography and cinema from OSU. After graduation I produced content and ads for a Midwest cable TV company. Then began a long relationship with Wendy's.I joined Wendy's a year before the iconic "Where's the Beef?" campaign. The production department I managed grew in staff and responsibilities to support marketing, public relations, training, corporate communications and investor relations. Our productions won international awards and still bubble up in the media ~ unheard of for an internal production facility.Eventually this role expanded to include event production and live webcasts. Among my personal commendations was Wendy’s corporate "Employee of the Year," while my direct reports were also recognized for outstanding contributions for their talent and insight. When Wendy's founder became an advertising celebrity, our close support of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption helped raise millions of dollars and took me inside the White House twice.The last third of my Wendy's tenure began with a bold move to streamline system communications and save one million dollars per year in printing and distribution costs. We successfully developed a robust internal communication website which expanded into multiple sites and microsites for three distinct brands. In this role I developed PM and tech skills, but the real key to success was a singular focus on the end user. After 31 years and several restructurings my time with Wendy’s concluded.Now as a freelance producer, I deliver rich, enjoyable programs that exceed expectations and make my clients winners. ...oh, and I also take tourists on jeep adventures into the Rockies with Adventures Out West.
