For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a thirst for knowledge and a passion for the written word. My experiences and skills have grown from two of my favorite childhood hobbies: reading and writing. My spirit of intrigue and my voracious love to read have followed me to this day. Currently, I work as a Public Service Assistant for one of the largest public library systems in the country. In my role, I work with diverse communities and am well-versed in evaluating and meeting information needs. Through my years of work in public service, I’ve developed excellent listening, problem-solving, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to a work environment that is constantly evolving. I possess a strong understanding of the importance of intellectual freedom, cultural awareness, and collaboration as they pertain to effective public library service and the growth and success of communities as a whole.I also serve on a committee that advocates for employee appreciation and recognition. This experience has afforded me the opportunity to develop and demonstrate successful leadership of teams and projects that have contributed toward facilitating organizational change and building trustworthy relationships amongst my peers.I’m an organized, high-energy, and detail-oriented individual. Library Technical Assistant
