Hoffman‐La Roche Pharmaceutical Company• Performed morphometric analysis of pancreatic islet endothelial cells of diabetic mice.• Developed a novel technique for isolation of pancreatic islet endothelial cells and identified differentially expressed genes in diabetic islet vasculature.• Generated knockout mouse models to investigate the effect of multiple genes on glycemic control and diabetic retinopathy in mice.

Focus on Gene Therapy, AAV biology and Kidney Disease.• Studied in vivo transduction efficiency of AAV2, AAV8 and AAV9 in the rat kidney.• Produced and injected AAV gene therapy products to study targeted renal transduction with different AAV serotypes and different route of administrations (intra‐parenchymal, intra‐ureteral and intra‐arterial).• Performed in vitro and in vivo studies to understand the role of 20‐HETE (a paracrine eicosanoid) in protection against renal ischemia/Reperfusion (I/R) injury.• Produced modified lentiviral vectors to genetically manipulate renal cell lines to overexpress 20‐HETE producing enzymes which resulted in increased protection against ischemic insult. • Identified intracellular signaling mechanisms that are activated by 20‐HETE and its analogs.
