There’s a significant gap in the tech industry today. It’s a Skills gap. Companies often struggle to reach the remainder headroom growth in new markets. Content Localization is not enough. To maximize product adoption in new markets, we need to also optimize our product discoverability, usability, and value-add relevancy for the diverse populations and use cases of the world.Localization Managers typically come from Applied Linguistics training with no product management skills or experience. And Product Managers typically come from Computer Science, lacking the dev/design skillsets for international segments, thereby missing out on effectively serving the rest of the world, beyond their domestic market reach. International Product Management as a skillset expertise has never been professionally taught (to my knowledge).
