The Australian Passive House Association (APHA) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which aims to lead change by educating, promoting, and supporting the delivery of Certified Passive House buildings in Australia. Our vision is that all Australians live and work in healthy, comfortable, low energy, resilient buildings.

Talina Edwards Architecture: elemental design studio based in Wadawurrung Country in regional Victoria. The small dedicated team are passionate about creating healthy, beautiful, functional, comfortable and sustainable architecture. The practice has a passion for design that improves people’s lives. Talina and her team strongly believe that high quality design of our built environment has many positive impacts for people and the planet. Talina is a Certified Passive House Designer, which is rigorous training to an international standard to deliver the healthiest, highest-performing and lowest-energy buildings in the world. The Passivhaus standard is heavily based in building-physics for proven performance. Talina embraces this scientific, rational and practical side of architecture, as well as the more creative and intuitive path to design. She employs a holistic and collaborative approach that is responsive to the whole picture, whilst including careful consideration of all the small, important details. She is very interested in how the principles of biophilic design can be applied to architectural projects to improve our wellbeing by connecting to nature. Talina is committed to the ideology of the ‘Living Future Institute’ which aims to redirect our future towards a society that is socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative. Talina believes in a holistic approach to caring for our planet and its inhabitants - “sustainability" it not enough; we need to be aiming for a regenerative outcome.

One of the volunteer Coordinators of the national steering committee responsible for mobilising Australian Architects Declare and Architects Act, a movement that brings together architects to take action on the climate and biodiversity emergencies. Working to raise the visibility of the movement through advocacy, events, social media, campaigns, communication and engagement.
