I get to know the audience I’m marketing to and then the business I am marketing for. That all starts with intense research: articles, social listening, direct conversations, data, and Google - thank goodness for Google! I uncover their values, aspirations, wants, and desires; what motivates them; what makes them smile; and what drives them to invest their time and money. I’m a customer-centric content creator who is passionate about making a difference in the world. I started my career as an English teacher, managing and educating classes of 30 children. I gained a wide spread of skills and honed values in organisation, writing for your audience, and working hard for your passion whilst in the classroom. I left teaching with huge respect for all those working in the public sector, but with a mission to make a difference beyond the chalk-face. I love content and the variation it gives me. From content planning to managing PR agencies, to deep social listening; I have never been afraid to get stuck in to get the job done. I have always enjoyed the rush of spinning multiple plates and pulling off deadlines that in the first instance appear impossible. At my core, I’m an incredible empathiser – perhaps why I can write content and copy for wide-ranging audiences. I care. A lot. About my colleagues, about the audience I serve and about the work I do. My perfectionism lends itself perfectly to my hobby of sewing my own clothes, as does my determination in being a lifelong learner. I like to read, run and travel.
