I never could have imagined I'd be that "worst case scenario" traveller who was 7066km overseas, hospitalized with expired medical insurance. Luckily I had already started the myriad of paperwork and Spanish doctors were not only professional but compassionate. But while they were saving my life, they explained their high level of English reading and writing and the wide gap between speaking. I got on the case to investigate.
