TL;DR: I help early and growth stage saas b2b companies figure out who they're actually competing with and how to win with competitive research-backed positioning. ---Over the last 14 years, I helped bring products to market in startups and Fortune 100 companies in a variety of roles. Some of those were $160M multidisciplinary products, some were DTC apps, most of them were SaaS B2B.Then in 2023 I saw talented folks being laid off to compensate for lack of exec strategy, and clever folks leaving toxic work environments even without a new gig on the horizon. You can say that I lost faith in the corporate system. So, I decided to take a little break from it and reevaluate.I believed I had experience worth sharing. I also knew there was a lot more to learn--and I wanted to learn from the best. So I started building my circle on LinkedIn that summer. And I created meaningful connections almost immediately. In just a couple of months I was meeting some of my personal heroes and expanded my network more than I have in the previous two years. And that was when I decided to stop interviewing for jobs I didn’t really want and doubled down on myself. Since that day I’ve been doing the work I love while being very intentional about the folks I work with. After a few months patterns began to emerge: - Competitive intel, one of the most strategic elements in marketing (remember Porter’s 5 forces?), is used mostly to create the most tactical assets (that are rarely being used anyway)- Most companies anchor their positioning on themselves, instead of articulating to their customers how they're differentI’m on a mission to change these two things.-----Before I was in product marketing:I went from a PMO to a Product leader at an enterprise company within 3 years. I discovered Product Marketing during my MBA and since then have worked in pre-IPO growth stage startups as a founding PMM and a director of product marketing.

Building the Product Marketing function I created a repeatable cross-functional process for product launches, established a competitive program to keep our Sales, Product, and Leadership informed, honed in on our ICP based on market and internal data, and owned the messaging in enterprise sales assets such as decks and cadences, content strategy, thought leadership and market perception. I co-led Bloomfire’s Analyst Relation with our CMO and secured Bloomfire’s participation in Forrester Wave and Gartner Market Guides, and numerous research publications mentions.I created content that with the buyer or customer in mind for every step in their journey: from thought leadership, buying guides, data-backed ROI proof points, product website section, product videos, internal selling materials for champions, sales decks, sales sheets, customer community updates, post-implementation videos, and in app guides.Impact:- Increasing enterprise win rates - Increasing ACV by 60%- Increased sales assets adoption - Created and ran highly-engaging customer events (70% participation rates)- Increased MQL/SQL conversion through targeting and messaging

As a director of product and product marketing at a fast growing B2C startup, I translate my interactions with customers and the interests of our partners into our roadmap, and then to actual product development. I use data to find the underlying stories and advocate intelligently to continuously improve the experience we offer to all of those.Key product areas: enrollment, referral program, LCM messages, chatbot experience. I manage international teams (mobile dev, website, design) and work closely with our backend dev team, IT ops, account management, risk and regulation. I spent my second year at McCombs FT MBA program working at Spredfast’s Product Marketing team. I researched the need and potential usage of a new product. My findings shaped the product scope (and were very different from the Product team’s hypothesis); indicated a clear ICP for that product; and used as valuable intel for the sales team in their outreach and during the sales cycle when tailoring solutions. I also explored different pricing options and created the core messaging that was later used in blogs, FAQs, and other sales assets.Go to Market | Product Strategy | Customers Cohorts Definition | Pricing and Packaging | Messaging | Data Analysis | Market Research
