Building on the skills I learned and developed as an Account Excutive at PSI, to deliver more effective campaign planning and taking greater responsibility for managing and development of client relationships. I am responsible for the planning and implementation process, delivering data-based planning recommendations and aiming to drive innovation and integration with the wider media landscape. In addition to this, I work closely with junior members of the team on training and development.

I was responsible for account handling and planning OOH campaigns for a range of clients across varied markets. Working closely with media agency partners to deliver on briefs for their clients, I liaised with media owners and colleagues in markets worldwide to plan and deliver the most effective campaigns for the brief.

I planned and bought offline campaigns - mainly press and radio, but also a significant amount of direct mail and outdoor - for a wide variety of clients, but with a focus on retails clients. Campaigns varied from £1,800 budget store openings to £100k+ regional upweights to national campaigns. Working closely with clients, and building strong relationships with clients and media owners, my role involved end-to-end campaign management; seeing briefs through the planning, negotiation and buying stages as well as presenting post-campaign analysis, and creating positional reports and competitive reports.

As an account executive I had the opportunity to work on most clients across the team, providing training in planning and buying for a wide range of campaigns. I was trained in both online and offline planning and buying, and key responsibilities included, but were not limited to, compiling positional reports and competitor reports, trafficking display and VOD campaigns, working with media owners to optimise online campaigns, and writing weekly campaign reports for clients, analysing trends in our own activity and that of competitors.

I wrote and researched the weekly e-newsletter, sent out to members, stakeholders and politicians, as well as researching and writing briefing notes for Parliamentary questions and debates. In addition to helping with general office tasks, I helped to organise events, attended meetings with MPs and stakeholders, and at the end of my internship, helped to organise and launch the formal membership programme.

I assisted with the organisation and promotion of a launch event following the Library’s move into new premises. After the event I wrote press releases about the move and the new building, which developed into a role more focused on promotion of the Library’s events. I helped to research and write trust fundraising applications
