Tamara is a dedicated community organizer, DEI advocate, and entrepreneur with a profound passion for giving back to her community. Currently, she is in the process of launching an advocacy organization to support the deaf community in the Waterloo Region, championing inclusivity and accessibility for all.Amidst her many commitments, Tamara serves as the Program Coordinator at LiftOff, a Black entrepreneurship program designed to help Black entrepreneurs build, grow, and scale their businesses. In this role, she empowers and supports Black business owners in reaching new heights, providing guidance and resources that foster success and sustainability.In addition to her professional roles, Tamara volunteers on the Grand River Accessibility Advisory Committee (GRAAC), where they advises on accessibility issues for the councils of the Cities of Kitchener, Waterloo, the Region of Waterloo, and the Townships of Woolwich, Wellesley, Wilmot, and North Dumfries. Her work with GRAAC reflects her dedication to creating a more accessible and inclusive community for all.Tamara believes that “the sky is NOT the limit” and lives by the mantra that with self-belief, anything is possible. She is committed to empowering others through the principles of self-worth and self-upliftment, inspiring those around her to be UNSTOPPABLE. Tamara is also the founder of TAMbitious, that does ASL Apparel, a clothing line where fashion meets inclusivity. ASL Apparel is dedicated to spreading awareness of American Sign Language (ASL) through stylish and comfortable designs that connect people with a meaningful cause. Each piece, from trendy t-shirts to hoodies and tank tops, features ASL-inspired graphics and phrases, fostering understanding and bridging communities. Tamara’s vision is not just about looking good but about creating a deeper connection and raising awareness for the deaf community.In addition to her advocacy and entrepreneurial work, Tamara leads workshops on vision boarding and basic American Sign Language, empowering individuals and teams to visualize and reach their fullest potential.
