Social Media ManagerDining For Women Oct 2009 - Mar 2012Domestic And InternationalI took the DFW National facebook page from 200 likes to over 2,500 likes during my role as their first West Coast Regional Director. My primary role was to market DFW and support chapter leaders/grow chapters in five West Coast States. I was involved in and implemented local fundraisers as well as market the org in both domestic and international circles. My goal was to find domestic and international women who would start their own chapters, grow their chapters and raise thousands of dollars yearly in order to support women & girls in extreme poverty in third world countries. I was instrumental in bringing Betty Makoni (CNN Hero Award Recipient) who rescued over 45,000 women from sex crimes to the US to be our guest speaker for International Women's Day. http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/06/04/cnnheroes.betty.makoni/I introduced Gayle Tzemach Lemmon Author & Journalist http://www.gaylelemmon.com/ to DFW. She shared our mission/vision with her international friends, colleagues and political circle. I invited her to attend a private DFW event I organized. Gayle shared her powerful, heartfelt and amazing experience in Afghanistan and the women who changed her life while she was there. She autographed her NY Best Selling Author: The Dressmaker" for over 100 of our guests. Gayle Lemmon is one of the most inspirational 21st Century Speakers. I connected with Nicholas D. Kristof, a columnist for The New York Times on fb. Nicholas is the co-author for "half the sky", a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner who writes op-ed columns that appear twice a week. Because of our connection on fb over 300 new women/men inquired and joined DFW as new members. Several chapters developed because of the posting and our China Chapter was created because of Kristof's fb posting and support for DFW.. http://www.halftheskymovement.org/pages/nicholas-kristof-and-sheryl-wudunn
