Leading the research within the R&D team to improve and expand our current ATOD technology for upcycling waste plastic to new monomers and chemicals.RESEARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS:- Developed new analytics, including new methodologies on both the GC & LC, to accurately characterize and quantify products derived from Novoloop’s core decomposition process and implemented refined quality control analysis. - Synthesized new standards for identifying key unknown species, resulted in improved downstream separations and higher product purity. - Increased Novoloop’s product yield from 30% to 86% by optimizing reaction conditions and reactor design. - Scaled reactions by 25X and executed another 2X scale-up in under a month. - Improved downstream purification processes and decreased product turnaround from 2-3 days to 4 hours.

Led a research collaboration of three researchers at Yale with L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation multi-site team for two years providing bi-annual reports and monthly presentations resulting in three manuscripts and one patent. Managed product delivery for testing.RESEARCH- Developed and optimized novel synthetic methods for the derivatization of sugars following a safe, green and sustainable route; work produced three manuscripts, one patent, thirty synthesized chemicals for testing. - Supported the analysis, identification, synthesis, and quantification of flavorants and sweeteners in e-cigarette products through the development of analytical techniques and methods resulting in seven manuscripts.- Supported and lead the development of a safe antibacterial material using Lysozyme.- Presented at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) in Green Chemistry in Barcelona, Spain.LEADERSHIP- Mentored four undergraduate students and managed two graduate students; guided research, provided hands on training, and provided individualized feedback and support; efforts lead to the writing of two manuscripts, one student launching a company, two securing jobs, and three continuing in research.- Assisted in facilitation of green chemistry workshop introducing youth to safety and hazard awareness of daily consumer products, as well as basic research techniques, and methodology implementation. - Directed and participated in discussion panel for under-represented high school students on the career path of a chemist and research.OPERATIONS- Served as laboratory Safety Officer; developed protocol for inventory of non-compatible chemicals resulting in a four-year period without accidents. - Solved vacuum pump shortage by re-building three rotary vane oil pumps; saved laboratory $6,000 then trained students to maintain and repair pumps.

Thesis Title: Synthesis, Characterization and Regeneration of Metal Hydrides; Aluminum Hydride, Lithium Aluminum Hydride and Lithium Amidoborane.The main focus of the research, as an undergraduate student, was the synthesis and characterization of different metal hydrides: Aluminum Hydride, Lithium Aluminum Hydride, Sodium Borohydride and Lithium Amidoborane. During my thesis, the dehydration and rehydration of Lithium Amidoborane was investigated.
