Tamara Prince-Parrish has been an active professional member of the arts community in Memphis, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia through teaching, choreography, acting, and dancing for 22 years. She has done voice over work, acting for the Medical School of The University of Tennessee. Tamara is a certified level 1 GYROTONIC® trainer, certified Pilates instructor, TRX certified, a certified personal trainer through NASM specializing in strengthening and conditioning and trigger point, stretch and flexibility, and a dance specialist. She is a Pro-Figure Competitor with OWU/NBA and IPE and a National Qualified NPC Figure Competitor. She currently trains clients at Better Life Training and Nutrition and teaches Pilates workshops and posing classes to figure, wellness, and bikini competitors with Next Level Training and she teaches Pilates for Club Pilates. She was adjunct dance professor of strengthening and conditioning and Jazz Beginner/Intermediate at The University of Memphis from 2011-2022. Tamara was the Artistic Director & Founder of Bridging Souls Productions (2010-2018). Tamara has choreographed Once on This Island and the Hot Mikado at Lausanne Collegiate School (2013-2015), Fiddler on the Roof and Peter Pan Jr. w/ Briarcrest Christian School (2015). She was apart of the Memphis the musical (2016), Ensemble of Hairspray (2014) and The Color Purple (2013) at Playhouse on the Square. Tamara was awarded the Florence McCleave Award by the Memphis Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta (2014), The Four Women Purple Pearl Award by the Grad Chapter of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Incorporated (2013), and the Mtenzi Award for her contributions to the arts in the mid-south (2014-2017). She has a B. F. A. in Theater and Dance from the University of Memphis (2003).
