The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS. I protect taxpayer rights, and assist in the development of the National Taxpayer Advocate's Annual Report to Congress each year. I research and solve taxpayer complaints and concerns about IRS systems, procedures and notices. My current areas of expertise include the Automated Collection System (ACS), Exempt Organizations, Collection Statute Expiration Dates (CSEDs), Levies and Liens.

I managed a group of analysts responsible for handling project work from taxpayers having problems working with the IRS systems, procedures and notices. As the group manager I was responsible for reviewing all work completed by these program analyst, handling all time keeping and personal issues, ensuring training was completed and if necessary teaching courses and delivering all work products on time. I was also responsible for working with other managers, attorneys, researchers, and other employees to help prepare the National Taxpayer Advocate's Annual Report to Congress and the National Taxpayer Advocate's June Report to Congress. This position ended when staffing realignments allowed me an opportunity to step out of management and pursue analyst work.
