Dispatch And Planning
Current1. Assigns and dispatches drivers to loads on a first-in, first-out basis, insuring hours of service requirements are met while striving to minimize service failures and bobtail expense as possible. 2. Communicates to driver: pick-up and delivery standards, shipper and consignee locations and any special customer requirements. 3. Monitors driver location status, and provides help and assistance as necessary to protect pick-up and deliver standards. 4. Notifies Customer Service personnel or customer of any anticipated or actual service failures. 5. Actively demonstrates good understanding of D.O.T. hours of service and compliance matters, providing help, and information as necessary to ensure drivers stay qualified and available for dispatch. 6. Insures all contractors and drivers are treated as customers. 7. Will be involved in all areas of equipment cost management and yard control.8. Will coordinate with other terminals for planning assignments and driver relocation’s to maximize optimal availability, utilization and to minimize costs.9. May perform other duties as requested
