ART DIRECTOR for Special Publications; Phoenix Home and Garden Resource Directory 2004, Phoenix Home & Garden Resource Directory 2005 and PHOENIX Magazine’s Medical Directory 2004, Phoenix-based publications, owned by Cities West Publishing, whose other titles include, PHOENIX Magazine, and Phoenix Home and Garden. Also heading up marketing and collateral materials. This includes sales brochures, business card re-design, postcards, sales, faxes and other materials to enhance and promote Cities West Publishing and its publications. ART DIRECTOR for DW Green Company, a marketing and advertising company. The company offered a full range of marketing, advertising and promotional expertise. Duties included design, layout, executing, budgeting and working on tight deadlines for advertisments, catalogs, brochures, invitations, fliers, posters, signage, packaging and promotional items. Also entailed in these functions working with company representatives, printers, suppliers, photographers and illustrators. GRAPHIC DESIGNER for JMB Marketing, a multi-media company. The company is a full-service computer graphics resource for the creation of presentation materials and output services. Duties include: design, layout, mechanicals, budgeting and working on tight deadlines for catalogs, brochures, Web pages, viewgraphs, slide presentations, technical manuals, invitations, fliers, posters and customized PowerPoint presentations. Also entails in these functions, working with company representatives, printers, suppliers, photographers and illustrators. GRAPHIC DESIGNER for Rio Salado College, an educational institution. The Department for Institutional Advancement oversees all graphic aspects for the college’s marketing. Duties included: design, layout, mechanicals, budgeting and working on tight deadlines for catalogs, brochures, invitations, fliers, posters, banners, signage, promotional and direct mail. Also on a monthly basis design and compose 3 to 5 newspaper ads a week. Also entailed in these functions, working with committees, department directors (ie., faculty department heads, other branch departments), printers, suppliers, photographers and illustrators. Computer experience on Quark, Quark Express, Pagemaker 4.0 and 5.0, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CD Rom in a Mac environment.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER for Scottsdale Center for the Arts, an organization presenting a variety of performances, exhibitions, educational events, outdoor concerts and festivals. Duties included: design, layout, mechanicals, budgeting and working on tight deadlines for catalogs, brochures, invitations, fliers, posters, banners, signage, promotional and direct mail. Also on a monthly basis design and compose 5 to 7 newspaper ads a week, design and execute a monthly calendar, and educational calendar and the company newsletter. Also entailed in these functions, working with committees, department directors (ie., visual arts, performing arts, education, development, retail and food & beverage), printers, suppliers, photographers and illustrators. Computer experience on Quark, Quark Express, Pagemaker, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and IBM environment.

ART DIRECTOR for Food Arts Magazine, which was acquired by M. Shanken Communications, Inc. M. Shanken is a New York-based publishing house, whose other titles include, The Wine Spectator, Cigar Aficionado, Market Watch and Impact News. Food Arts became a monthly publication. Obligations included converting Food Arts to a computer generated format on Macintosh Pagemaker. Also included: design and layout, coordinating with photographers and illustrators and other professionals associated with the food and beverage industry. Further functions included designing and executing 4/color advertising and overseeing trafficking of Food Arts through the printing process.

ASSITANT ART DIRECTOR for Food Arts Magazine, owned by a London-based publishing house, Quarto. Food Arts is a high quality, 4-color publication specifically designed for gourmet chefs and individuals active in the restaurant, catering and food industry business. Food Arts was published bi-monthly. Responsibilities included the day-to-day duties of page design as well as coordinating complementary photography and illustation. Additional functions included designing and composing 4/color advertismenting and overseeing the trafficking of Food Arts through the printing process.

DESIGN DIRECTOR for Clifford Design, a New York-based design studio specializing in graphic marketing and packaging for cosmetic companies including Avon, Estēe Lauder and Elizabeth Arden. In addition to supervising an art staff, duties included design, layout, paste-ups, mechanicals, comps, type specing and stats. Responsibilities also entailed working directly with client accounts a well as day-to-day working relationships with vendors, printers, suppliers and art direction for photographers and illustrators.
